Chorlton Scouts Secures £23,000 government investment
The Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport recently launched the first round of the long awaited Youth Investment Fund. The aim of the Youth Investment Fund (YIF) is to create, expand and improve local youth facilities and their services, in order to drive positive outcomes for young people, including improved health and wellbeing, and skills for work/employability and life.
Chorlton Scouts, like many other youth charities responded to this grant opportunity as soon as it went live, the fund was overwhelmed and within a few days had to be closed to new entrants.
We are delighted to be able to tell you that ours was one of the successful bids and we have been awarded £23,086 towards Sea Scout Equipment. Additionally our district bid, was also accepted meaning our group (along with the others in South Manchester) will have access to £20,000 worth of brand new camping equipment.
We’re absolutely delighted to be receiving this funding and are sure it will make a real difference to the service we can provide to our youth members.
