Beaver of the Week goes Green!

Date: 5th Sep 2021 Author: Chorlton Scouts

After working toward their green blue Peter badges last term, We’ve decided to make some permanent changes to our Beaver of the week programme in an effort to be more sustainable.

Each week one outstanding Beaver Scout from each of our 4 colonies is selected by their leaders as the Beaver of the Week and have traditionally been rewarded by selecting a toy from our box.

Alot of the Beaver of the week toys are plastic and thus not great for the environment so in an effort to do our bit we will be swapping out the toys for fun badges.

Each Colony will have a Beaver of the week woggle to award their top Beaver which they can wear all week and until the next Beaver of the week is appointed.

To replace the toys, our Beavers will be able to select a badge for their camp blanket.

Beavers will be able to choose from a large selection of badges to add to their camp blankets.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
